THE 57th PUCCINI FESTIVAL 2011
Torre del Lago (Near Lucca), Italy - July and August

This Festival is devoted entirely to the works of Puccini. The operas are performed outdoors in this lakeside spot near Lucca. Puccini chose to settle in Torre del Lago and his former home is now open to the public. It is crammed with Puccini memorabilia including his clothes, his piano and original manuscripts. There is a new open-air theatre for all the performances. All the performances start at 9.15pm.

Operas Abroad offers packages including return flights, three hotel nights with breakfast at the Hotel Celide, Lucca (four stars) for £660, extra night £100 (single supplement per night £70). Hotel Celide 4***.
A hotel where courtesy and professionalism reign supreme. It is situated on the main road just outside the old Walls of Lucca that surround the historic centre and pedestrian area, just a short walk away from the most important sights. Each bedroom has soundproofing, air-conditioning, internet-TV and Pay-per-View, satellite channels, SKY, telephone and PC modem socket. There is also an entire floor for non-smokers. Guests can eat in the excellent restaurant, which is also open to the public, with seating for about sixty diners.
