HOTEL DE LA VILLE ****
The Hotel De la Ville is right in the heart of Milan and within walking distance of the Duomo Cathedral, La Scala Opera House and fashionable Via Montenapoleone. The hall is entirely covered with cherry wood panelling which gives it a very warm ambience, together with English curtains and upholstery, floral carpeting, paintings and other elegant decoration. The bar ‘Il Visconteo’ is one of the most fashionable meeting points of the city.
Detailed attention has been lavished on the rooms and suites so as to satisfy every requirement. Each has a unique touch, with different colours and patterns of silk tapestry.
From several apartments there is a fine view over the Duomo and its spires. The bathrooms have valuable and exquisite marbles, such as Verde delle Alpi and Perlato di Sicilia. The new restaurant L’Opéra is open until late at night, and is ideal for a meal after the theatre. One can enjoy tasty dishes chosen from its creatively revisited Mediterranean cuisine, accompanied by excellent wines from a well-stocked cellar. On the first floor, the Oyster Bar is a meeting spot for a traditional aperitif, or for high quality but quick lunches and dinners. The Sirenuse Fitness Club offers Technogym, sauna, Turkish bath, and Jacuzzi. A particularly attractive feature is the swimming pool on the roof, heated through a transparent cupola, and the solarium open to the view of the Duomo.
HOTEL SANT’AMBROEUS***
Hotel Sant’Ambroeus has 52 rooms, recently renovated in a tasteful and elegant style. All the rooms have been sound proofed and they are equipped with private bathroom. They have air conditioning, minibar, satellite TV, radio, telephone and Internet connections. There are smoking and non-smoking rooms in the hotel.
The hotel is located in Viale Papiniano (green line metro stop San Agostini is 400 metres away, bus line 50-54, tram line 21-29-30), near the famous Church of Sant’ Ambroglio, dedicated to the patron saint of Milan. The hotel is in a central but peaceful area, characterised by the greenery of the large Parco Solari and the romanticism of nearby Navigli, a spot with a high concentration of restaurants and bars.
The Fiero Internationale di Milano is located nearby as is the Duomo, the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie and many other sights.
