OPERA
HOLIDAYS IN HELSINKI - 2010
All of our hotels are well located for visiting
Helsinki’s attractions, the Sibelius Monument,
the Cathedral, the National Museum, the harbour
and of course the Finnish National Opera and
Ballet.
An interesting option for sight-seeing is to
take the ferry for a day to Estonia’s
medieval city Tallinn. There are several crossings
daily, both the ferry terminals are close to
the city centres, the fares are inexpensive
and the crossing time is only an hour and a
half.
La
Traviata at the Finnish National Opera
The Finnish
National Ballet will be visited this season
by two great figures in the world of Dance,
Sylvie Guillem and Akram Khan. They will perform
their own work, Sacred Monsters. Benjamin Britten’s
operas Peter Grimes and Albert Herring will
be presented and both works will be sung in
Finnish.
