Some other options which are not specifically mentioned in the brochure are the opera seasons in Bratislava, Naples, Moldova, Turin, Cologne, Tirana and opera festivals such as the Rossini Festival in Pesaro, the Salzburg Festival and the Summer Music Festival in Ljubljana, Slovenia’s capital city. For those who do not enjoy flying or who would like to reduce their carbon footprint there is the Opera Bordeaux which has a full season. Bordeaux can be reached by train with just one change in Paris; Euro Star to Paris then change for Bordeaux. Another good non-flight option is to take the Euro Star to Brussels. The Théâtre de la Monnaie, Belgium’s state opera has many productions for this season which include Rusalka-Dvorak, Death in Venice-Britten, Lucia di Lammermoor-Donizetti and the Marriage of Figaro-Mozart. Travelling by Euro Star has many advantages over flying. You do not need to check in so early, it is more comfortable, you do not need to retrieve your luggage at the end of the journey and you will arrive in the centre of the city.

We can arrange musical cruises; a recent one in the Mediterranean with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra on board was enjoyed by Operas Abroad clients.
